Getting to Veysonnaz is easy. The region has superb road and rail connections to mainland Europe/UK and a choice of three airports close by (Sion – 15 minutes, Geneva – 1.5 hours, Zurich – 3 hours)

DRIVING FROM GENEVA AIRPORT

Driving in Switzerland is very easy. The roads infrastructure is first class and all turns are well sign-posted. In summer, the journey time from Geneva airport is 1.5 hours, however, in winter it can take a little longer depending on weather conditions. All car rentals at the airport will include snow-tyres as standard, by law, during winter months.

 Travelling via road from Geneva airport

  1. Exit the airport and merge onto the A1 [E25] following the signs for “ Lausanne ”. (We like to stop in Montreux for lunch if we have time)
  2. Follow the motorway for 56km.
  3. Turn right onto the onto A9 [E62] following signs for “E62 / Simplon / GD-St-Bernard / Vevey-Montreux / Lausanne-Nord”
  4. Follow the motorway for 93km.
  5. Turn right at the Sion Ouest exit, follow the road to a T-junction and turn left towards “Nendaz”.
  6. Go straight over the roundabout, over the bridge and sharp left to Nendaz.
  7. Turn right towards “Nendaz / Veysonnaz” after reaching a set of traffic lights.You will know you are on the right road if you see Giroud Vins in front of you on the left. (Call and buy some wine if it is open) 
  8. Continue up the mountain pass, passing through the villages of Turin , Arvillard, Baar, Brigon. IGNORE THE WHITE SIGN FOR VEYSONNAZ AT 3.5KMs. Continue until reaching Beuson. Take a sharp turn left for Veysonnaz.
  9. Continue up road until reaching the old town of Veysonnaz and follow the signs for the “Télécabine” (sharp right turn).
  10. You are now on the road to the resort, you will pass the Multi story car park and petrol pumps on your left and then come to a sharp left turn. Do Not go round this bend.
  11. Turn right and follow the road. This is the Main Street of the Station.
  12. Follow the street past the small row of shops and a phone box on your right and a bar and supermarket on your left and take a very sharp right turn. Our apartment is in front of you.

 TRAVELLING BY TRAIN

 Travelling using the Swiss Railway service is both efficient and relaxing. Trains nearly always run on time and are well air-conditioned. Taking the train allows you enjoy the magnificent scenery of the Rhone Valley . The closest train station to Veysonnaz is in Sion – about 25 minutes drive from the apartment. A bus service runs seven times daily from the station to Veysonnaz www.carpostal.ch. Alternatively, you can get a taxi from the station to Veysonnaz (40CHF) There is a direct train service from Geneve Airport to Sion running roughly every 30 minutes and takes 1hr:40 or 2hrs:08 minutes(96CHF return).
